A commonplace book mainly consisting of poems by authors both identified and unidentified, occasionally accompanied by remarks from the book's creator; Biblical verses; lessons on grammar; notes on currency, and a "general list of the inhabitants in the Province of New York . . . Dated February 16th 1756." A note on the endpaper dated 1890 states that the volume came from the library of J. Carson Brevoort, and attributes it to his wife, Elizabeth Dorothea Lefferts
